David Ludwik Chrapkiewicz (“Rap-kye-vich”) has been a full-time violin maker since 1979, having his own shop in Iowa City (1979-1984), Nashville (1984-1992), the New York City area (1992-1998), the Washington, D.C. area (1998-2020), and now Bar Harbor, Maine (since 2020). A musician as well, David has an excellent ear and understanding of how the violin is played.
